AIR/HMC, Budapest - quick update on the residencies

Here is a quick update on the residencies, press and exhibitions so far this year.
We are proud to announce that due to its success, our Residency/Seminar program has been expanded!
Starting this year, we are organizing 7 sessions per year.  I will host them in Budapest from May through August, and then again in December and January.  The September and March residencies will be hosted by volunteer artists.  Last September, October, March and April, the residencies were hosted by my Daughter Beata Veszely.  This September's group will be hosted by David Wilkinson.

Even though the residencies will no longer be held in Csopak and Balatonfured, we still maintain a fruitful relationship with the city and its leadership.  We have been invited to mount an exhibition of residents' art works at the City Gallery and Gombas Kuria in Balatonfured next year.

In March and April we presented a traditional Indian dance group at the Jokai Klub and the Hungarian Museum of Trade and Tourism.  The performances were a great success!

In May we had a beautiful exhibition of works from the 2008 AIR/HMC artists at the Ferencvarosi Gallery.

We are currently busy organizing next year's exhibitions.  In June 2010, Christopher Pelley will exhibit in a 2 person show at Vizivarosi Gallery, Budapest.  (Chris was a resident in December 2006, and has been an HMC board member since 2009)  The title of the show is "New York".

In the mean time I am preparing for 2 upcoming solo exhibitions.  The first one, "Confucius", will be an installation at the Jokai Klub in December.  The second one will be my 60th birthday exhibit "Tango" (I cannot believe it!) at Gallery IX, Budapest in April.

Please go to http://airhungary.ning.com/photo to see most of the works uploaded from the HMC collection in the album  2009 residencies art works
If you do not see yours, let me know and please send me a photo of your donated work.  I will label all the uploaded art with names and titles....  I just need more time to do so....

Our 2010 residencies and exhibitions are already organized. Please check out our website for dates and info at
